A custom built-in bookshelf in a private apartment in Schöneberg, Berlin. The unit fills an entire wall, wrapping around an existing door, and combines a low sideboard with open shelving that continues up to the ceiling. A deliberate gap between the two elements keeps space for larger objects and art. The piece is made from oak veneer, lacquered in Farrow & Ball Peignoir, leaving the wood grain visible beneath the colour. The shade was chosen to loosely echo the wall colour rather than match it exactly, an intentional off-tone pairing that gives the room a soft, warm atmosphere without disappearing into the wall.
